Dr. Joseph Brier is a postdoctoral psychology fellow who provides warm, collaborative care using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). He works with children, adolescents, adults, and parents around anxiety, OCD, depression, ADHD, oppositional behavior, school refusal, perfectionism, trauma, elimination disorders, and family stress.
He has specialized training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), behavioral parent training, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and is a certified Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) therapist. Much of his work with parents focuses on strengthening the relationship, increasing cooperation, and supporting emotion regulation.
Dr. Brier earned his Psy.D. in clinical psychology from Long Island University Post. He completed his APA-accredited internship at Andrus, with additional training at Northwell Health’s OCD Center, the NYU Langone Child Study Center, and LIU Post’s Community Mental Health Clinic and College Counseling Center.
He aims to help clients face difficult situations, build confidence and independence, and leave with skills they can keep using.
